Litigation Legal Assistant - Labor & Employment (Defense)
Location: San Diego, CA
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
Work Environment:
- Role 1: Experienced assistant - potential for 1 day/week WFH
- Role 2: In-office, 100% onsite
Compensation: $30-$48/hour

About the Role
Quarles is seeking two enthusiastic and skilled Litigation Legal Assistants to join our Labor & Employment Group in San Diego. These positions will support a dynamic team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Candidates must bring extensive California litigation experience, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to supporting attorneys and clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to attorneys in all aspects of case management
- Prepare, proofread, revise, and finalize legal documents with a high degree of accuracy
- Handle e-filing in California state, federal, and appellate courts
- Maintain confidential records, files, reports, and legal documents
- Manage attorney calendars; schedule travel, meetings, and appointments
- Process time entry, client billing, intake forms, and conflict checks
- Assist in maintaining organized electronic document systems
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience (California experience preferred; Labor & Employment strongly valued)
- Strong working knowledge of California and Federal court rules, e-filing procedures, and litigation timelines
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Professional
- Experience with document management systems; iManage and Compulaw experience a plus
- Exceptional writing, proofreading, and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, manage competing deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment
- Professional, positive, proactive, and collaborative attitude
- Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
